11 Weeks

The past couple weeks have been the best week so far, barely  nauseaous, just a few smalls waves of it in the morning before I eat breakfast and later in the evenings when I really need to just sit down and rest and stop for the day.  Praise Jesus!  I'm so happy.  I haven't worn the PSI Bands in 12 days

How far along? 11 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 8 lbs!  OMG

Maternity clothes? No, not yet, but pants and some of my jeans I'd rather leave my button unbuttoned.  ha ha!
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Still sleeping good
Best moment this week:  My mom and sister came for Thanksgiving, and of course they are over the moon about the baby, and my sister had to feel the bump.  Ha ha.  And talk to it.  ;)  HA HA

Miss Anything? Nope, I'm staying strong!

Movement: Butterflies and some aches and pains, but the doc says that's mostly my ab muscles resisting to stretch, and not me feeling the baby at this point.

Food cravings: Can't have enough fruit!  Pineapple, strawberries,  blueberries, banana's...
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Still on the no Veggie kick.  My head misses them!!  I hope my dislike of them will pass quickly!

Have you started to show yet: Yes, I am confident in my bump.

Gender: Nope, still don't know, but I'm thinking the no veggie issue is Eddie's fault, so it's gotta be a boy. :)
Special things I'm focusing on:  I made it to the gym twice last week!  YAY!!!

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy, Happy, Happy

Looking forward to: Eating more healthy again!

9 Weeks

How far along? 9 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: Not sure, I haven't weighed myself, but I've been eating ALOT!  Small meals very frequently.  I feel like I'm eating all day long.

Maternity clothes? Haven't been wearing any, but I did get a few things in and tried on a pair of pants for work...man are they comfortable!
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Can't get enough of it

Best moment this week: Seeing that Eddie wrote "Baby Appt" on our calendar at home for our next appointment.  Awww, it's the little things.  :)

Miss Anything? No, I've substituted coffee for Hot Cocoa, and I'm loving that.

Movement: No, unless butterflies count.
Food cravings: Cravings seem to have gone away.  I'm trying to get in more vegetables, but the thought of lettuce, onions, and other veggies has me feeling queasy.  I made a chicken pot pie this week and loaded it up with veggies, so I'm getting some in my diet. Paleo has slipped to the way side...I'm just praying that once I stop feeling sick all the time I'll be better able to regain my focus on the healthier stuff.  For my sake and the baby's.
Anything making you queasy or sick:  The thought of lettuce, raw onions, and I think I over did it on gingerale.  Also cutting meat has turned into an issue.  GAG!

Have you started to show yet: I have a very small bump. Can you see it?
Gender: Still don't know, but still calling him he.
Special things I'm focusing on:  Really going to try and get to the gym at least twice this week.  I went on Monday and am planning on going again today.  I've just been so tired the past few days, I've been in bed before 8pm.
Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time:  I've been happy for the most part, lately.  But those damn Armed Forces commercials wishin their families a happy holiday on the radio keep making me tear up on the drive in to work.

Looking forward to: Not feeling nauseous and sick every day.

8 Weeks

How far along? 8 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: back to my original weight, the 1lb i gained last week, is now gone.
Maternity clothes? No, but I have bought a couple things since summer stuff was on clearance and that's when I'll be biggest.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Sleeping surprisingly well.

Best moment this week: Saturday was all together just a great day, didn't feel as nauseous, and had lots of energy.  I also saw two rainbows.

Miss Anything? No, haven't even wanted coffee.  Appetite still dwindling and very specific.
Movement: Nope
Food cravings: Fruit juice.  I've got cranberry, orange, apricot and mango lemonade waiting in the fridge.  Apricot being my new favorite!  I never had it before, who knew!?  I also want buffalo chicken frequently, and salty things like potato chips or french fries.

This is what nausea looks like
Anything making you queasy or sick: Yes pretty much anything if I smell or think of something too long I'll make myself feel sick.  I've figured out that if I get up and walk around or move around I feel much better, quicker.  This past week was pretty bad on the nausea side but I still haven't thrown up. I've purchased PSI Bands (which have worked wonders), Ginger Chews by Chimes, crystallized ginger, hard candy, and Duchy Shortbread cookies, because I read that Kate Middleton ate the Duchy shortbread cookies during her extreme case of morning sickness called hyperemesis gravidarum.  Silly?   Maybe, but the mind is powerful, and lately I've begun to convince myself that a lot of my nausea might be mistaken for my own anxiety of being pregnant.  So I shall eat with the Duchess eats, dammit.

Bye, bye six pack
Have you started to show yet: Well my six pack is gone.  ;)  Ha ha!  Ok, so no, I didn't have a six pack, but I've never been this "Bloated".

Gender: I keep saying he and him as does Eddie.

Special things I'm focusing on:  Not throwing up.  :)  I don't wanna!

My crossfit plan currently is not working.  I only made it once last week, but got in a long walk and a run as well.  Hopefully this week will be better on the active scale.

Labor Signs: No

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Mixed emotions.  One day I'll be happy, but I had one day this past week, where i just felt sad, angry and cried.  It was all completely irrational, yet uncontrollable.

Looking forward to: Not feeling nauseous.  It really sucks to feel so yucky after spending the past couple of years cleaning up my diet, exercising and feeling amazing to feeling like poo everyday for a majority of the day no matter what you do. I'm praying that the 12-13 week marker of morning sickness going away is spot on, or hopefully even less!

We're 6 or 7 weeks along

We had our first doctor's appointment yesterday.  I was extremely nervous.  I do not do well in medical situations that have to do with me as the patient, especially when it comes to blood work.  We had to wait for a bit to actually see the doctor, and when she came in, she asked all the questions about how I am feeling, if I'm on any prescriptions, do I exercise, and my diet.  Well, feeling pretty good, some waves of nausea throughout the morning, still doing crossfit and still trying to follow paleo as much as possible, but have been settling for some Trader Joe's gluten free waffles with peanut butter and bananas as a go to breakfast the past few days.  Eggs I haven't been finding too appetizing.

The doctor then did a complete physical exam, vaginal culture and vaginal sonogram.  From the sonogram measurements she said baby is about 6 or 7 weeks along.  Which is about what I expected.

Eddie and I then got to ask all of our questions, about crossfit, coffee, deli meat, sushi, battling my anxiousness and what to expect over the next few weeks til our next appointment.  She suggested keep doing everything as if nothing has changed.  Sit ups are ok, crossfit for now, is still ok, coffee limit to 1 -2 per day (or any caffeinated beverage should be 1-2 cups per day total), sushi and deli meat are also ok in moderation, and deli- meat only from the grocery store.  The anxiousness, she recommended pinpointing what was making me so anxious and focusing on overcoming that fear, and said talking about it with friends and family should help too and yoga would be great to help with learning calming breathing techniques.

After our visit with the doctor we had to wait for me to get blood drawn.  My biggest fear!  I HATE needles, scared to death.  The phlembotomist was so sweet about the whole thing, it probably helped that Eddie talked to her and the doctor of how big my fear really was, which was so sweet of him.  I still cried like a baby, but I got it done, and I didn't pass out.  Success!!

How far along? 6 or 7 weeks along
Total weight gain/loss: I'm up 1 lb. (Could have been water weight since it was so late in the afternoon as well;)
Maternity clothes? No
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Slept very well last night after telling the grandparents to be and aunties and uncles to be.

Best moment this week: When I asked the Doctor if she saw more than one in there, and she said "Nope, just one, with a heartbeat in the uterus as it should be."  I was scared there might be twins in there.

Miss Anything? Not lately, my appetite has decreased throughout the day.  But the Doctor said I can still have sushi in moderation.  Praise Jesus!  We went out for sushi last night.  :)
Movement: No movement yet that I can tell, just some shooting pains here and there.
Food cravings: Fruit, all I want is fruit right now to help with the nausea, I've even sucked on some lemons.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Yes, the horrible aroma around my office building, we work across from the what I call Poop plant.  Also, the smell of our refrigerator at home makes me queasy even though I've cleaned it, I can't figure out what smell is bothering me in there.  Also Abbey and Buddy's breath.  Gross!

Have you started to show yet: No, just feeling bloated still.
Gender: No clues yet.  Eddie keeps referring to the baby as him, he, etc.  :)
Special things I'm focusing on:  Trying to stay active.  My goal is to still make crossfit 3 times per week.  I'd like to do yoga once a week to help relax me more.  I'm an anxious mess.

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy but I defintly still have a short fuse.  Sorry Eddie.  :(
Looking forward to: Not feeling nauseous

We also told our parents and siblings via skype/facetime. We wore our t-shirts proudly!  ha ha!

Everyone is excited and very happy for us.  It was such a relief to tell them.  Their reaction made it so much more real, and exciting.

My First Week of Pregnancy

I took the at home pregnancy test Friday morning, October 18th, 2013. I really was shocked to see that little word staring back at me... PREGNANT.
Its says, "Pregnant"
OMG!
I remember looking up into the mirror back at myself thinking, no, shaking my head back and forth..."I read that wrong." Only to look back down to see it again looking  back at me...PREGNANT.

Today is Thursday, October 24th, almost a whole week later, and I'm still having a hard time believing it and now all I have is this picture to keep looking at, cause keeping the pee stick is kind of gross, plus the battery died after like 12 hours.

How far along? Not sure yet, but from the Health & Parenting Pregnancy app, it says I'm 8 weeks.  I'm thinking more like 6 or 7.
Total weight gain/loss: So far, none on the scale, although my pants around my belly are uncomfortable, I just feel bloated all the time.
Maternity clothes? No
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Not great like normal, but not terrible... with the frequent trips to the bathroom and then realizing I'm pregnant again in my awaken state, it's been taking me longer to fall back asleep.

Best moment this week: Reading a text from Eddie that said, "Love ya baby Momma."
Miss Anything? I will state the obvious - wine. But I would like to add sushi. We go out for sushi normally once a week and I didn't have any this past week! Big frownie face here... :(

Movement: Nada, just feels like a lot of stretching in my belly going on and cramping, lots of cramping.
Food cravings: First one this week, a cheeseburger. HA, and it was so delicious.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not yet, so far no morning sickness.

Have you started to show yet: No, I guess not...Eddie says no, but I feel my belly protruding into my pants all day
Gender: No idea, but I have a feeling it's a boy....it's been too simple of a pregnancy so far...Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Simple Man" keeps playing in my head.
Special things I'm focusing on:  My water intake.  Since Monday I've been drinking 40oz of water with a lemon wedge throughout the work day, then an additional 20oz during my workout, and more with dinner and before bed.  So probably an accumulated amount of close to 60-65oz per day.  No wonder I'm peeing so much.  But I read that the more water you drink the better off you will keep morning sickness, constipation and a whole laundry list of other horrible side effects at bay.  I've started Prenatal Vitamins and DHA in addition to my daily Fish Oil.   I've also increased my veggie intake either in morning green smoothies or salads for lunch with lots of spinach and kale.

Labor Signs: No

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy but anxious! I also have a short fuse. Sorry, Eddie! And I had a moment in the restroom the other day at work when I couldn't get the toilet paper roll to move and I was swearing at it.
Looking forward to: Our first Dr. appointment on October 29th to get the official word from a medical professional that says, "Yep, you're pregnant"...and to fill in all the details as much as possible. I'm also looking forward to telling our family. This has been extremely difficult news not to share.
