We're 6 or 7 weeks along

We had our first doctor's appointment yesterday.  I was extremely nervous.  I do not do well in medical situations that have to do with me as the patient, especially when it comes to blood work.  We had to wait for a bit to actually see the doctor, and when she came in, she asked all the questions about how I am feeling, if I'm on any prescriptions, do I exercise, and my diet.  Well, feeling pretty good, some waves of nausea throughout the morning, still doing crossfit and still trying to follow paleo as much as possible, but have been settling for some Trader Joe's gluten free waffles with peanut butter and bananas as a go to breakfast the past few days.  Eggs I haven't been finding too appetizing.

The doctor then did a complete physical exam, vaginal culture and vaginal sonogram.  From the sonogram measurements she said baby is about 6 or 7 weeks along.  Which is about what I expected.

Eddie and I then got to ask all of our questions, about crossfit, coffee, deli meat, sushi, battling my anxiousness and what to expect over the next few weeks til our next appointment.  She suggested keep doing everything as if nothing has changed.  Sit ups are ok, crossfit for now, is still ok, coffee limit to 1 -2 per day (or any caffeinated beverage should be 1-2 cups per day total), sushi and deli meat are also ok in moderation, and deli- meat only from the grocery store.  The anxiousness, she recommended pinpointing what was making me so anxious and focusing on overcoming that fear, and said talking about it with friends and family should help too and yoga would be great to help with learning calming breathing techniques.

After our visit with the doctor we had to wait for me to get blood drawn.  My biggest fear!  I HATE needles, scared to death.  The phlembotomist was so sweet about the whole thing, it probably helped that Eddie talked to her and the doctor of how big my fear really was, which was so sweet of him.  I still cried like a baby, but I got it done, and I didn't pass out.  Success!!

How far along? 6 or 7 weeks along
Total weight gain/loss: I'm up 1 lb. (Could have been water weight since it was so late in the afternoon as well;)
Maternity clothes? No
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Slept very well last night after telling the grandparents to be and aunties and uncles to be.

Best moment this week: When I asked the Doctor if she saw more than one in there, and she said "Nope, just one, with a heartbeat in the uterus as it should be."  I was scared there might be twins in there.

Miss Anything? Not lately, my appetite has decreased throughout the day.  But the Doctor said I can still have sushi in moderation.  Praise Jesus!  We went out for sushi last night.  :)
Movement: No movement yet that I can tell, just some shooting pains here and there.
Food cravings: Fruit, all I want is fruit right now to help with the nausea, I've even sucked on some lemons.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Yes, the horrible aroma around my office building, we work across from the what I call Poop plant.  Also, the smell of our refrigerator at home makes me queasy even though I've cleaned it, I can't figure out what smell is bothering me in there.  Also Abbey and Buddy's breath.  Gross!

Have you started to show yet: No, just feeling bloated still.
Gender: No clues yet.  Eddie keeps referring to the baby as him, he, etc.  :)
Special things I'm focusing on:  Trying to stay active.  My goal is to still make crossfit 3 times per week.  I'd like to do yoga once a week to help relax me more.  I'm an anxious mess.

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy but I defintly still have a short fuse.  Sorry Eddie.  :(
Looking forward to: Not feeling nauseous

We also told our parents and siblings via skype/facetime. We wore our t-shirts proudly!  ha ha!

Everyone is excited and very happy for us.  It was such a relief to tell them.  Their reaction made it so much more real, and exciting.
