17 Weeks

How far along? 17 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 12lbs gained (haven't weighed in)

Maternity clothes? In the pants department, maternity pants are by far the most comfortable.  I have been getting away occasionally, wearing my pre-pregnancy jeans using a hair band around the button and loop.  This hair band maternity trick is very clever!  Althought it's not my favorite because it shows a lump from the button and hair tie.  I also have been waiting for a belly band to show up that I ordered off of Zulily, but holy crap, it's been a month since I ordered it...how long am I suppose to wait with them to recieve the product?  Everytime I check the order status it still says "shipping to Zulily."

I receieved my new bras!!  Praise Jesus, I'm comfortable again.  I'm up 1 cup size, but gave myself more room around the torso. Soooo much better!  I think all my weight gain was in my chest.  Just call me, "Big Boob Betty." ;)
Stretch marks? None so far.
Sleep: My sleeping habits have been good.  Been going to bed at 9 or 9:30, getting up to use the bathroom about 2-3 times per night.  I'm averaging 8 to 8 1/2 hours per sleep each night according to the Jawbone UP.  Have you tried the Jawbone?  It's pretty cool.  It also tells me how active I'm being during the day which since my job is pretty sedentary, is a nice reminder to get up and take a walk around the building, or take a lap or two up and down the stairs.

Best moment this week:  While at crossfit, I was trying to perform a clean and while trying to get the bar up, I kept hitting the baby bump.  Baby bump is starting to get in the way of things!!!!  HA HA!

Eddie laughed and said, "Toughen that baby up, show him who's boss."  Although our coach was like, "Yeah, let's do some sumo deadlift high pulls instead."  Ha ha, so that workout I modified the cleans to the sumo deadlift high pulls.  I guess bumping the bump is frowned upon.

Miss Anything?  I've been missing beer lately.  It just sounds so good.

Movement: I don't believe I have felt any movement still.  Still thinking what I do feel, might just be gas.
Food cravings: I still am loving fresh fruit.  I've been eating pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, oranges and cantaloupe.  I've also been eating salads again!  HOOORAY!!!  Veggies for snacks, like carrots and cucumbers are my favorite lately.  I also have been eating cereal!  Rice Chex or Corn Chex (both gluten free) with a banana or some blueberries thrown in the mix.  Delish!  I've eaten that for dinner twice this past week, it's so yummy.  It's been the perfect go to meal after work and crossfit.  So I may not be totally back on Paleo, but I'm on the road to a more Paleo-ish style.

Anything making you queasy or sick: No, I'm happy to say that I haven't been feeling bad at all.  I've been feeling great!

Have you started to show yet:  HELLOOOOOO baby bump.  This baby I feel has had a huge growth spurt in there.  It feels weird to bend over to put on my shoes, which is annoying, although I'm still capable of doing sit ups.  Yippee~!

Gender: A majority of you think it's going to be a girl, or wish a little girl on Eddie.  ;)  But I'm still convinced it's a boy.  I don't know why.  I keep calling him, he, and him without hesitation.  We've had someone who has guessed 9 for 9 babies with 100% accuracy tell us that it is, in fact, a boy.  Oooooohhhhh, this is so fun!!  I can't wait to find out.
Special things I'm focusing on:  Staying strong, building my endurance and staying active with crossfit.  Drinking lots of water (4-5 20 ounce bottles of water per day).
Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, happy, happy!

Looking forward to:  Finding out who is right, is it a boy or a girl?

I am 15 Going On 16 ...

Hello friends and family!  Sorry I've been slacking on getting my posts updated.  It's been a busy holiday season!  Without further ado, here's the most recent baby Casinover updates.

How far along? 15 going on 16 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 12lbs gained

Maternity clothes? I've invested in some other maternity pants, since pretty much only 1 pre-pregnancy pair of jeans still fit comfortably. Leggings are still my go to on weekends, but I can't wear them to work except on Fridays.  I got some new ones for Christmas. YIPPEE!!  I also ordered some new bras, which I'm anxiously waiting their arrival.  I might be up two full cup sizes!  Holy MOLY!  They are outta control!

Stretch marks? None so far.
Sleep: I'm sleeping well, can't make it past 9:30 these days.  I'll wake up to go the bathroom 2-3 times each night, I've been a peeing machine since I'm drinking 80-100 ounces of water per day (Doctor's orders to prevent migraines and other ugly side effects of pregnancy like constipation, Boooo!), I'm practically floating these days.

Best moment this week:  We saw the baby on the sonogram at our last appointment.  I was nervous because we tried to hear the heartbeat on the doppler, but couldn't, so to ease me from freaking out, the doc gave in for another sonogram.  We saw the heartbeat, and I just couldn't believe how much bigger Baby C is from the last month we saw him.  She was mad though throwing punches and kicking, which the doctor said was normal, because they don't like the doppler machine because it's loud for them.  I saw legs, feet, arms and hands and we could even see the spine!  Amazing!  I really have a hard time comprehending that I have an extra set of body parts in my belly...

Miss Anything?  I miss sleeping on my back!  I got this amazing pregnancy pillow from Eddie for Christmas which has been great from preventing me to roll over on my back, but I still find myself rolling there on top of the pillow.

Movement: I may have felt a flutter or two, but it also could have been gas.
Food cravings: Carbs in the morning is all I want.  Bagels or english muffins.  I've also had a weird obsession with ketchup lately and ranch dressing.  I'll dip anything in them.  Mozzarella sticks dipped in ranch anyone?...Not horrible, but it sounded a lot better than it tasted.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really, I do get waves of nausea though at night when I'm laying down trying to fall asleep.

Have you started to show yet:  I'm showing.  You can tell more when I'm wearing more fitted clothing.  Or I just look fat now.  Ha ha

Gender: We'll find out if we're having a baby boy or baby girl in February at our next appointment!  WOOP!!
Special things I'm focusing on:  Drinking enough water and getting enough rest.

Looking forward to:  Is Baby C a boy or a girl??  Who wants to take guesses???

14 Weeks

How far along? 14 Weeks

14 Weeks Preggers

Total weight gain/loss: 8lbs gained (haven't weighed myself...maybe more)

Maternity clothes? I ordered a new bra, a belly band and a maternity camisole to help wear under some of my regular clothes.  My regular clothes are really becoming uncomfortable, especially the pants.  I'm hoping the belly band will give me some more time in my regular pants since it's Christmas time, and I don't want to spend money on maternity pants right now.  I asked my boss today if it would be OK if i started wearing sweat pants to work...he laughed at me....but I was serious.  :)
Stretch marks? None so far.
Sleep: Sleeping is still going good.  I can barely make it to 9pm in the evenings though, unless it's a weekend and I get a nap in.  I'm usually in bed by 8:30 and sleep til about 7am or 7:15am, with two to three trips to the bathroom throughout the night breaking up my sleep.
Best moment this week:  Not baby related, but I finished Christmas shopping and mailed out the packages and they will be there before Christmas.  I feel stress free now.  :)  Christmas is less than a week away! Yippeee!!

Miss Anything?  I haven't really felt like I've been missing much in the food department.  I've been eating what I want.  I mean compared to how I was eating with Paleo pre-pregnancy...Now, I'm eating bagels, English muffins, potato chips, grilled cheese, and dairy...lots of yogurt, milk and cottage cheese.   So I'm not really feeling deprived with food.

I am missing my energy, though.  Last week I made it to the gym 4 days, this week....I haven't gone yet.  But its on the agenda for this evening.  I feel more tired now in my second trimester than I did in the first.
Movement: I haven't felt any movement yet.
Food cravings: Weekly cheeseburger still.  Oooh and salad...I crave salads again...but they need to have egg in them with ranch dressing.  Other things I'll crave on the fly.  For example, I'll want a grilled cheese for lunch, so I'll make one.  Or for dinner I'll crave pasta with red sauce, so I'll have that.  But in case you were wondering, and I'm sure it's pretty obvious... going to the grocery store while pregnant and hungry is not recommended.  I did that the other day and picked up 4 cans of spaghettio's with meatballs, pepperoni with cheese and crackers, potato  chips and a watermelon.  Eddie could not believe I bought the spaghettios!  It's been years since I've had them, but they looked good at the time.  Haven't cracked them open yet.  :)

Anything making you queasy or sick: This week I experienced my first pregnancy migraine.  It was terrible.  I was nauseous, saw flashing lights, it hurt to so bad I cried.  Then I became emotional and cried harder asking Eddie how in the heck would I be able to handle childbirth if I can't even handle a migraine.  He reminded me that there were drugs for that.  But unfortunately, all I got was Tylenol for the migraine, drank lots of water, sat in a dark room, tried to sleep and used a neck massager all over my head and neck.  Now that I think back, it may have been self induced.  We had the fireplace going all weekend, I baked three different kinds of cookies, was cleaning the house, wrapping presents and not paying attention to how much water I was taking in.  I didn't rest enough, and I clearly didn't drink enough water.  That was a hard lesson to learn.
Have you started to show yet:  Yes, I've got the baby bump going on.

Gender:  This week I think it's a boy again.
Special things I'm focusing on:  Paying attention to my water intake and resting when I feel tired.  I've noticed my back starting to get sore if I'm on my feet too long, especially on the weekends, and I'm sort of using that as my cue to sit down and try to relax for a bit or nap.

Happy or Moody most of the time:  This week I've been happy but tired.  Since the migraine I haven't really gotten my swing of energy back.  I hope I didn't lose it.

Looking forward to: Getting to the gym.

13 Weeks

How far along? 13 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 8lbs gained

Maternity clothes? Yes!  I am wearing maternity pants for the first time today in this picture...and honestly, am not sure why I waited so long!  SO.Comfortable.  Happy dance!!
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: I slept great last night, after some Vinyasa Yoga, but I haven't had too many issues falling asleep, yet anyway.  I am trying to train myself to start sleeping on my left side.  I'm normally a back sleeper and I've been reading how uncomfortable and bad that is when baby gets bigger pushing on the spine.  So I might as well start training now.  I've been propping pillows around each side of me to "Bumper" my body from going on my back.  It's working out OK so far.
Best moment this week:  Working out 3 days in a row this week so far, I feel fantastic!!
Miss Anything?  No, maybe caffeine a little bit when I get really sleepy in the afternoons at work.   But that has encouraged me to get up and take walks around the building, or outside to feel the cold wintery air.  Does the job.
Movement: I haven't felt any movement yet but from what I've been reading on the pregnancy app he is be-bopping all over the place in there and could quite possibly be sucking her thumb even!  So cool!!  I wonder if we'll have a thumb sucker?  I never was one, but my sister was.
Food cravings: The only cravings I get lately are the weekly cheeseburger and fries.  Ha ha!  Oh, and I craved a beer the other day.  I did not indulge, sadly.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still on the "would rather not eat veggies" roller coaster, but have been able to force myselft to eat some as long as there isn't any raw onions on salads and other things.
Have you started to show yet:  Yes.  Please tell me you see it now?  Even Abbey sees it!    She's been sniffing my belly but then proceeds to rest her head on it.  She loves him already.
Gender:  I'm torn.  I have no idea.  I call him or her him or her as the moment moves me.
Special things I'm focusing on:  Keeping  up on my crossfit workouts for endurance!  I'll need it for labor!  :)  Also I'm going to try to keep up with doing yoga weekly...that was so great last night, and I really need that awesome stretching in all areas more frequently.
Labor Signs: No labor signs, but have been experiencing aches and pains described as round ligament pains, which I read is due to the stretching of the ligaments that hold my uterus in place.  Freee--eaky!  I'm so amazed at what my body can do lately.

Happy or Moody most of the time:  A little whiney, tired but happy.

Looking forward to: Going to bed.  It's my favorite part of the day.  Also, this weekend I plan on making christmas cookies!

Gratitude abounds!  Life is good!  :)

12 Weeks

Hello friends and family!  We've officially announced the pregnancy.  That is, we've announced it on facebook.  That makes it official, right?

Now that we're into the holiday season, I was feeling crafty, so I created name tags on our stocking this year.  Eddie, Chris, Abbey, Buddy and Baby 2014!  The white stocking in the middle is the baby's stocking.  I posted the photo below on facebook with the comment, "We added a new stocking this year!"  Such positive vibes and congratulations all around.  Thanks everyone!

How far along? 12 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 8lbs gained

Maternity clothes? I have been wearing a couple shirts that I got as "Maternity" just for the comfort.  I've been living in leggings on the weekend, while wearing mostly dresses to work for the extra room because I just don't like wearing pants anymore.  With the dresses I've been shifting the pantyhose down below the baby bump or if they are really stretchy, above it.  I've considered cutting them a bit at top but am afraid that will make them run.  Sooner or later I'm sure I'll have to invest in maternity pantyhose.  I think anything labeled maternity is $5-$10 more.  What a rip off!
Stretch marks? No.  My sister got me a fabulous cream to rub on my belly to hopefully prevent stretch marks.  So I've been using that nightly.
Sleep: Still sleeping good, and more.  I went to bed one night this week at 8pm and didn't get up the next morning til 7:15am.
Best moment this week:  Working out!  I feel so good after.  Physically and mentally.

Miss Anything? Now that I've been feeling better, I have started wanting coffee again.  I've had two cups this week, one I made half caffeinated half decaf with vanilla caramel sugar free creamer, which was to die for.  Then the next day I used just decaf with the creamer again.  Something about the caffeine the day before though tasted so much better.

Movement: No movement that I can feel  yet.  But I do feel a lot of tighening in the belly, like stretching.  I'm assuming that's normal since my skin IS actually stretching.  Gross.

Food cravings: I think the cravings are kind of going away, but I'm still eating alot of fruit, very few veggies but I am taking my prenatal vitamins again and DHA fish oil.  So hopefully that is compensating the lack of veggies I'm not consuming.

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Just smelly things, like garbage that needs to be taken outside, the dogs' breath, Eddie's morning breath, and certain leftovers in the fridge can spike a nose lift with an immediate fridge door slamming closing.

Have you started to show yet: Yes, I am confident in my bump.  The boobs have also gotten bigger.  Time to go bra shopping!!!  :D  Maybe that's a gift idea I can give Eddie for Christmas this year!
Gender: I'm having doubts that it's a boy now.  I think it might be a girl!
Special things I'm focusing on:  Crossfit!!  I have missed it so much, and now I'm going again more regularly and I feel wonderful!!  I talked to the doctor again about it and she said keep going til things start getting uncomfortable, then modify.  It has also helped now that I have revealed the news to the coaches who are more than willing to help me modify anything and everything if need be.  They are so great!  They suggested a website too, that actually gives you modifications for workouts while pregnant for each trimester.  http://crossfitmom.com/  So that website has been useful and insightful.

Labor Signs: No

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, Happy, Happy!!  I've got lots of ideas floating around in my head about the baby's room.

Looking forward to: Finding out if the baby is a boy or a girl... so I can really start decorating and planning the baby's room.
